রুই মাছ-Rui fish

চাঁদপুরের পদ্মা-মেঘনা নদীর মোহনার রুই মাছ স্বাদ ও মানের দিক থেকে বাজারের সাধারণ চাষের রুই মাছের চেয়ে সম্পূর্ণ আলাদা এবং অত্যন্ত আকর্ষণীয়। চাঁদপুর ইলিশের জন্য বিশ্বখ্যাত হলেও, এখানকার মোহনার মিষ্টি পানির রুই মাছ ভোজনরসিকদের কাছে অত্যন্ত জনপ্রিয় ও দামী।

অনন্য স্বাদ: পদ্মা ও মেঘনার তীব্র স্রোতের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিনিয়ত সাঁতার কাটার কারণে নদীর রুই মাছের শরীর খুব সুগঠিত হয়। এর মাংস হয় অত্যন্ত আঁটসাঁট (firm), রসালো এবং প্রাকৃতিকভাবেই মিষ্টি স্বাদের।

গন্ধহীন: চাষের রুই মাছে অনেক সময় কাদা বা কৃত্রিম ফিডের একটা গন্ধ থাকে, কিন্তু চাঁদপুরের নদীর রুই মাছ সম্পূর্ণ গন্ধহীন এবং ফ্রেশ হয়।

তৈলাক্ত পেটি: বড় আকারের নদীর রুই মাছের পেটির অংশটি বেশ চর্বিযুক্ত ও নরম হয়, যা রান্না করলে চমৎকার স্বাদ ছড়ায়।

নদীর রুই মাছ সম্পূর্ণ প্রাকৃতিকভাবে বড় হয়। এরা নদীর তলদেশের প্রাকৃতিক শ্যাওলা (Algae), প্ল্যাঙ্কটন (Plankton) এবং জৈব কণা খেয়ে বেঁচে থাকে। পদ্মা-মেঘনার মোহনার পানি পুষ্টি উপাদানে সমৃদ্ধ হওয়ায় এখানকার রুই মাছ দ্রুত বাড়ে এবং এদের পুষ্টিগুণও অনেক বেশি হয়।

৩ কেজি থেকে শুরু করে ৮-১০ কেজি বা তার চেয়েও বড় সাইজের রুই মাছ এখানে পাওয়া যায়।

The river Rui fish grows entirely naturally. They survive by feeding on natural algae, plankton, and organic particles from the riverbed. Since the water at the Padma-Meghna confluence is rich in nutrients, the Rui fish here grows rapidly, and its nutritional value is also much higher.
